Don Nico location was born in Downtown Brooklyn in Albee Square and served out of a food kiosk made from a recycled shipping container that was decorated with colorful signage designed by renowned street artist Steve Powers. In 2015 we decided to use our past experience in the fine dinning restaurant business to begin a new journey in Jamaica, Queens. Nicola Maurello or better known as Nico, combined with Chef Tony and Chef Felipe have worked together for over 25 years. The journey these three have had started stems for Midtown Manhattan. Pasticcio Restaurant was established in 1980 and was a landmark institution in the Murray Hill neighborhood of New York City. Pasticcio was well known to New York City residents and attracted customers from many New York City neighborhoods and the New York metropolitan area as well as numerous visitors and tourists who enjoyed the culinary delights and comfortable atmosphere. Nico purchased Pasticcio from the original owner in October 1994, and fulfilled his dream of owning a business in New York City. He brought energy and creativity as well as a thorough knowledge of culture, food and hospitality to the establishment.
The Pasticcio formula was a commitment to excellence including continuity regarding food, drink, service and atmosphere. The continuation of Nico's journey will provide the same excellence for all Don Nico customers to enjoy.
